Hmmmmm, I wish those numbers could be somewhat reliable, however, since DFO has serious issues estimating in-season populations, these estimates are pretty much a shot in the dark. Some of the forecast models used here are totally inadequate and fail to take into consideration very important factors such as ocean temperatures, freshwater productivity, and so on.

That's why it is a preliminary outlook. ;)

Where is the evidence that indicates these factors are not considered in the forecast models?
I still haven't had a chance to put up all the preliminary 2005 post-season estimates of sockeyes and pinks yet, will do that in December if anyone's interested.

Yup I am interested. I am more interested in seeing you change your avatar though ;D

Here's a link to the preliminary 2005 escapement numbers that are complete. Also updates for in-season stuff that isn't quite wrapped up yet.

That's why it is a preliminary outlook!
Having spent the last weekend in these meetings, it is VERY preliminary.
We all know that the Coho are really down in numbers, so watch for this.
I would say in a few months they will have a good handle on it!

From those number it seems runs has been coming in progressively later into season since 2003. And this year return is late and also spread out into more months.
