Has anyone ever caught a skate?  How did you do it, and would I want to?

thanks

so I guess it's just bait on the bottom and luck then.  Did you eat it?

Normally you eat the wings. You can buy the wings at fish market.

right.. cast your bait and wait..

actually, i couldnt eat the fish.

sharks and skates are all cartilageous fishes which means they have ammonia in their blood stream. therefore those are really taste funny without proper treatment. however, some people really enjoy the funny taste. so i gave it to one of my friend..
