I was doing a little research on the Albion Test Fishery. Check out these numbers:
Total Catch Between April 1st--June 1st:
2005= 26
2004= 128
2003= 277
2002= 159
2001= 182
2000= 134
1999= 96
I can't belave how low 2005 numbers are. Where are all the fish? Are we going to have the same disature as on the Columbia River springers going missing? I hope there late!

this has been asked lot's lately
I'm hoping and assuming that this years freshet is affecting the test fishery.
other thing too is that just runs can be weeks early and weeks late so i think we can't get too alarmed just yet.
2 years in a row now we have had success in the upper fraser for springs in late may. last year on the 30th i bounced ALL FRIGGIN DAY and on that "last cast" hooked a 35lbs beast. This year my cohort, standing in my spot, gets a 20lber after about 5 hours of nothin.
Be patient , they will come.... I hope ;D

out for sturgies last night in lower river. no action but holy crap, lot's of springs rolling and jumping right at the tide change. Probably saw 20 or so springs of various sizes jump. cool to see a wave of em movin through.
