Good afternoon.
I am headed to Lac le Jeune over the May long weekend and was looking for any info for fly fishing in the area. I've been to the lake once when I was a young kid and saw nice rainbows in the shallows but was wondering what flies would a rookie use for a float tube with floating and sinking gear. Also, we have 4 wd access so any other lakes in the area would be fine too. Not looking for secret spots or anything, even lakes full of 6 inchers would be fine :). Any and all tips appreciated.
Thanks,
GHC

Ask for directions to Fred Lake..short distance from where you will be. Short walk in.(5 min). Excellent for float tube.

Ahhhh....Winterkill, thats too bad. Might be worth it just to have a look anyway for a paddle.
I was just checking up on the BC parks website as well and it mentioned that the pier on the lake was damaged over the winter so it will be shut until further notice :-\.

When I go to le Juene I fish Lake Walloper in the wee hours before the family gets up... small sized fish max 2 pd rainbow... but so many that I have never missed... and the last time I was there there was no limit as the lake was over stocked :o
The lac Le Jeune I have found slow to fish...
but
Roche lake is close and world class rainbow abounds...!
