Title: 1st Salmon of the year
Post by: Sandhead on May 11, 2005, 01:19:20 AM
When do you all think you will catch your first freshwater salmon of the 2005 year? End of July? I need to start tieing some squamish poachers up.

I hope to catch one sooner than that.  I fished the lower Fraser yesterday without any luck.

I am hoping to get a salmon within the next couple weeks, will be barfishing the lower river today. Its just a matter of putting in enough time. Was looking at some archived reports from another site, and noticed there were springs starting to be caught around this time in the upper river, island 22 ect. in previous years. So I would imagine there should be a few cruising through the lower river.

Probably (hopefully) a couple of weeks when the Capilano coho show up in good numbers. :)

rodney, get up there, could be sooner than a couple weeks. had a few real nice bullets following spinners but they would get an inch or two away and veer off. damn sneaky coho.  ;D
