Title: Yellow Perch- location

I was wondering if any of the lakes in the lower mainland posesses this type of species. If there are, please do tell me, cause I'm a beginner and is really eager to catch some fish. Extremely unsucessful this year. thanx.

None that i have heard of, try Whonnock Lake for Crappie; a panfish is a panfish.

There are no yellow perch in the LM.......yet..... :-[

If your looking for guarenteed sucess I'd reccomend targeting some coarse fish such as northern pike minnow, or peamouth chub. Cultas lake out in the valley is overflowing with them. If your looking for something closer to town ask Rodney  ;)

Which end of Cultus lake is better?
I tried the northern end dock (where the river outflow is) but no luck. :(

IamCanadian,

If you really really want to get some Perch, you need to head out about 3 hours from vancouver to the okanagan.

Close to Kelowna you will find quite a few lakes with perch.

its only a 3 hour drive, and i actually done this 2wice now .. left very early in the AM, done a full day of fishing, and came back
the same day. if you don't mind the scenic drive :)

that area of BC is really great in the summer time - u should check it out.

splavik, which lake was it where you were catching those yellow perch a couple of years ago?

That's a pretty far drive just for yellow perch. ;) You can probably go somewhere closer for something bigger, ie. rainbows. ;D
