Did you know that the Battle of the Atlantic was the longest running battle of WWII? It's anniversary is remembered every May 1 at Lonsdale Quay. I was down there with my wife this past Sunday, and took some pictures

The guy in the foreground looks like a sea cadet but the rest are definitely navy vets.

The band major is from Lonsdale Cadet Corps. My wife is with NLCC Captain Rankin, and the band in the back - I'm not sure of their affiliation.

In Denmark we celebrate the 4th of May as the end of World War 2 because it was the day we were liberated from the Nazis. It’s funny how it is different dates all over the world. Every country has its one role and story in that war.
