Are there any good beaches to find the shrimp other than White Rock? And do I have to use a pump? Can't I dig them out? Or can I build one? IF u know how to build a pump, please let me know! thanx ;D
-
yes you can dig them out ,and yes you could build one.
-
Definitely I recommend a pump. You can use a shovel to dig for them but it's alot of work.

Go buy a piece of PVC pipe(or metal, don't matter) about 3' long and 4"'s in diameter, cap one end of it. Drill a smallish hole in the cap, not so big that you can't cover it up with your thumb on your retrieval. Put a handle system on the top and away you go..................Find yourself a suspecting shrimp hole, drive that pump on into the sand, plug the hole and pull out. The sand and hopefully a little shrimpy should fall out when you take your thumb off the hole in the cap.
-
Make sure the cap is securely fastened with PVC glue.
-
Put a handle system on the top and away you go..................
What do you mean by a handle system?
-
Just glue a small piece of PVC onto the top of the cap using PVC glue for a handle. A wooden dowl will also work.
-
I suggest you just buy one.
-
So then the cap has a hole on the top with a handle on the side? Don't u need something to pump it out? You'll just stick the pipe in with ur thumb covering the cap and then pull out? Wouldn't the sediment fall out before u take it completely out?
I'm sorry for asking so much! Thanx

That one in the previous picture is three feet long 3 inch diameter thinwall stainless steel pipe. Note the small hole in the top to let the air out when you push it into the sand. When its all the way in you put your thumb over the hole and pull er up and the vacumn causes the sand and bugs to come up too. Try to find nice soft sand the bugs like it there the best.
