Title: Berkley Big Game 15# line.
Post by: Rieber on March 30, 2005, 11:39:44 PM
I just won a bid on 10800 yards of the stuff - what the hell was I thinking - what am I going to do with that much line?  ::) New line on the reels every month? I can always start tying and selling 16' leaders for Sockeye season. Sell it to the Natives to repair drift nets? I know - I can weave it into a bizzare blanket. Any ideas?

I know, you should link up all the FWR members with tin can telephones strung together with your line!

when you really think about it, its not that much... with a average capacity of a reel of 300 yard ( calcutta 400, abu 6500..)  it will spool up about 36 reels split between 2 ppl is 18 reels each. well easily you will use up the spool in couple of years.  Plus, if you keep the line out of the sunlight and store in a dry area, you can keep it for many years.

Berkly big game, what were you thinking  :o I had a spool of #15 big game and I was consistantly breaking it before my #10 ultra green. Although if you heard good review maybe I just got a bad batch.

SK, not everyone has 18 Calcutta 400 like you.... ;D

You can always make birdnests out of them, think of how many more birds you'll have in your backyard! ;)

No problem making birdsnest with line - I fish around sticks so I'm constantly catching tree trout on my cast. I agree that Maxima is the superior product but the price was too good to ignore. I'll use it - eventually. Maybe I'll sell a bunch cheap.

Biffchan, the reason that your 15lb big game snap before 10lb ultragreen is because Maxima under rate its own product.  when you look at the diameter you will know what i talked about.
