Hey all you lower fraser fishers, I have a question for you.
Has anyone seen any signs of little salmon fry swimming around yet?? And any sign of large cutties and dollies eating them up? I was thinking of doing a little fishing around the area in april. Maybe some of you richmond people could let me know ;)
Anyways, taker easy,

Still a bit early. :) They are just starting to emerge in the streams now. I don't usually see them down here until late April and it'll last until mid May. In the past two or three years, my biggest bull trout are always showing up around the last week of May or first week of June.

Doh!
Thanks

Hey Rod, how big was your biggest bull trout? Last november, i caught my first 2 bull trout the first was pushing 9lbs, the second about 7lb. I think they were bull trout, they could of been dollys.

They were all bull trout.
7-9lbs. :o Those are biggies.
This was my biggest one last year in June.

we estimated that to be between 4 and 5lb.

Do bull trout and dolly varden grow to the same size? I find it nearly impossible to distinguish between the two.

Dolly vardens are no where near as big as the big fish we catch.
Jonny, ask me again about the dolly fishing in April as I will frequently fish the area next month. You never know, they may show up early in big numbers with this weather trend. There should already be a few fish around now.

Bumpidy bump. Anyone know now?
Thanks
