Title: Vedder Trout Fishing In March
Post by: leaping steely on February 11, 2005, 12:43:32 PM
I am planning on taking a friend to the Vedder in Early March for some Trout Fishing. Is it the wrong time for trout? I remember last year during steelhead fishing I've caught many Trout, but this year none ??? Are the Trout  lock jawaed at this time of year, or are they all in the lower river? Any help is appreciated.

Ive got cutts in lower river around that time. Seems to be spring time when I start getting them (cutts that is and never many)

Id say lower river definately. Not a lot of resident trout in the mainstream. Above the hatchery there are tonnes.  (this knowledge obtained from fishing with permit up there years back)

Fishing pressure takes its toll on the resident trout is my opinion.

Anyway, sorry to sidetrack. Give it a whirl for sure, but Id suggest lower river.
