Just wondering what everyones favorite meathods are for curing roe and or single eggs. And what is it about your recipe that makes it the best, in your opinion. And if you use procure do you have a colour preference?

There used to be some info here ::)

Ditto, procure and borax.
-
Just curious what colour of procure do you use
-
My favorite is Hot Lava Orange - Procure Wizard. Great colour for cubed roe or singles in hot pink mesh for sacks.
-
Fluorescent pink, Double Neon Red, Red Hot Double Stuff works for me.

how many eggs do u guys use in your roe sacs?
-
Depends on the size of the single eggs. I just finished tying a bunch roe bags using 5 chinook eggs.

Hey Fish assassin
Do you have a colour preference for the spawn sack material
-
Pink and white

do you guys just sprinkle the procure over the roe or use a brine. I use a brine of water, salt, borax, sugar, and procure. I then dry it out for a bit and cover in borax.
My single eggs are put in water with some procure for a little while to colour them up. I then put them in highly salted water to preserve them. I usually use 4-6 chum eggs per sac in red, orange, or pink mesh.

As for single, i do my own water harden eggs. Use the water from the river where you get your fish... Soak singles in for about a day or too, it will sink to the bottom, what ever float on top discard them... then mix in salt until it no longer disslove.. store it a fridge or a cool area, for a day or two.. the eggs is done when you be able to bounce it like a tennis ball...... I usually store them in a small sandwich container with the liquid just cover the eggs. I keep them natural as possible, by using different color mesh to give high light to the sack.
