Title: Want to catch my first fish!!!!!!
Post by: michaeld on November 02, 2004, 07:11:44 PM: Hey, im new to fishing i want to catch my first ever fish i think i want to fish for trout im just a kid and i have a fishing rod that does'nt work i think its in good coditon but its not catching fish when i was fishing for little fishes i could'nt catch one i think my fishing rod is jynxed it says walley fishing rod its 6 feet can you please help me thanks! and i live in the burnaby area so any fishing lake around there is fine besides deer lake cause i can never catch one! thanks please please help! :(

I don't know much about trout fishing but i do want to be the 1st to help.
Trouts are shy from thick fishinglines. you should try to keep your rig as natrual as posible... ill leave the rest to the pros in this forum ;)

Post by: The Gilly on November 03, 2004, 03:54:08 PM: Keep trying. You aren't the only one who hasn't caught a fish. Try a worm under a bobber or a salmon egg or some power bait. Go to your nearest fishing store and get them to set you up properly. Take your rod & reel with you. There is a new store on Imperial at McPherson. I don't know the name, but I'm sure someone on this site will provide it. Good luck.

Personally I use a #9 eagle claw hook (I think).
