Got together with a couple of buddies on the weekend and we were talking about fishing and hunting...One of my buddies is an avid bird hunting and we were talking about the ban on lead shot...This turned the discussion to how long before we are not able to use lead when fishing due to all the gear lost....What do you people think ??? ???
To me it only makes sense.....

Lead is an inert substance-as it is it won't harm anyone/anything.
But put tiny bits of it in a Bird's gullet and once it hits those digestive acids you've got probs-or rather the Bird has probs.
So that's why the Govt is indeed moving toward banning lead sinkers under a certain size.

which is another reason why hunters lead banned too - extending the lead from the murdered bird into the hunters stomach - last time i checked salmon did not eat lead.

There has been some chatter about this, but it seems to be shot that is the problem and not fishing weights. By the way...how was fishing on the 30th? We got wet and didn't have to pack out any Coho :'(
