What is the official or guesstimated weight of your largest hatchery coho? Mine was a fish that weighed 17lbs 4oz cleaned. Fraser R.
-
14 pounds from vedder
-
That's pretty good sized 'ho
Biggest coho I've seen is a 23 lb fish, don't know if it was a hatch or not, definately shows the work the hatcheries are doing for the stocks.

C.F. has caught some big ones from the Capilano !
-
Wow, 15 lbs !
-
Please post pics. I always hear of these monster coho but rarely see the photos. If you have a pic of coho like that please share with all. A 15 lb plus coho is a prize from the river gods....bless us with it.

Got one 12 lbs 6 oz at the Vedder mouth on a spoon years back.
Entered it in a derby but placed 4th with 3 dogs beating me out for the $$$. It was the first year for Chum retention.
Last biggest was just shy of 10. A fish that hits 8 lbs is a 'tank' in my books as I dont seem to get many big ones often considering the amount of smaller ones.
Hmmmm... :(

gotta 11 and a bunch of 8s. Lost a nice one about 15 jumped and spit the hook right beside the net we almost got him. He spit the hook jump and hit the side of the net :'( In port

Buddy caught an honest 15 lb (gutz in) coho in the Sumas Canal 3 years ago.

(http://members.shaw.ca/kckrahn/smallcoho.jpg)This was from a day last year fishing with my father in law and wife. The perspective is hard to get in this pic but the one in the center is an honest 12 lbs. These are all big fish and there were others that we either lost or were wild that were bigger than the biggest here. They were deep girthed coho. :)

sure was :)

Nice fish Johnny, thanks for posting pics, we don't see enough of those big coho's.

i once unloaded a 25.2 # coho out of a gilnetter on the fraser
not extremly long but the girth on its stomach looked like a slab of spring

20lbs northern out of Dianna creek just outside of Prince Rupert. Some of the best fishing of my life right there 5 mins from home.
I was fishing for Jacks (4-5lbs) the afternoon before work and did real well. took two home for the familly. went to work that night and it rained cats and dogs.
Went to fish the same spot the nest morning near the bridge off of the highway and first cast bam 15 lbser nails my lure.
Well I had to finally re spool my reel to catch this big one, which broke my rod. serves me right for using a 6foot spinning rod.

Johnny, so that's where all my fish went while fishing the Vedder last year, never made it up to where I was! ;D
Your hand gesture... was that to indicate the size of the one that got away that day? :)
-
Hey doc! 15.6 lbs from the Chehalis.
