Hi all,
I'm looking for places to fly fish for trout. Are any of the rivers in the Squamish area (Squamish, Cheakamus, Mamquam, Indian, Elaho, Ashlu) fishable this time of year? I read somewhere they are silty until "fall". So when does fall start? :) Anybody have any luck in that area?
Thanks, reach

I'm assuming once the higher elevation starts to freeze to a point the snow no longer melts producing the silty glacial water. I'm probably wrong ;D

Hey,
Fished the Cheakamus yesterday, water is clear. 2 rainbows, dolly, beat-up spring....drive up paradise valley until the end of the road, fish around there. Squampton is dirty, not sure about the upper tribs...

Thanks devo. Other plans (Blue River area!) have come up for this weekend but hopefully I'll get up that way next weekend.

Just wondering what's happening in Squamish, Just got back from a couple of weeks up in Terrace and the Island, the rain blew the rivers out for about 70% of the time. To answer your fly question, i like bead head black or green wolly buggers or nymphs, size 6 or 8.
