Hi,
My friends and I are trying to do saltwater fishing on Vancouver Island or even in the international water. May be we will stay there for one night...
Any one has some good suggestion about the location, boat rental and hotels stuff like that on Vancouver Island which are not too expensive??
Thanks a lot...

If I had to choose (it's a big Island) I would go to Bamfield. As far as easy, however, go to Campbell River.

An inexpensive trip would be going to Campbell River. A buddy of mine used to go there when he was younger and cast buzz bombs off the fishing pier there. Caught some nice salmon there.

My friends and I are trying to catch some big linkcod, helibut and rock fish...
We want to go on the west side of Van Island or even go into the international water....
our budget is around $200~250 depence on spending a night on the island or not...
Any good suggestion about the location, boat rental, place to stay and stuff like that??
Thanks a million...

Try Uclulet. Canadian Princess et.al.

International waters is 200 miles out. I don't think you want to go there to fish.

I second Grumman's suggestion of considering the Canadian Princess. They have a fairly reasonable package for either halibuts, salmon or bottom fish.

hi jac
just got back from bamfield and there is a lot of chinooks out there.did not keep any unless they were over 10 lbs.the coho were big too average about 8 lbs.seabeam resort rents boats for 150.00/ day. they are 15 foot boats with a 10 hp motor.just bring your own rods and gear .they come with downriggers on the boat.the nice thing is you only have to go only 5 minutes from the seabeam float to start fishing.just fish the top 35 feet of water.they were biting on everything bait, spoons and plastic .can't miss .
