IMO..... Your tension screw is to tight. Loosten it up a bit, it is found under the handle on the right ( if you are right handed).

what does you reel look like?

Do you know what the brand and model names of your reel are?  And was it working fine before it stopped casting correctly.

This ones a little like checking the breaker when there's no power, but here it goes.  Are you clicking the leaver over?  No offence, but I've seen it done.

dont worry i found out the problem. i wrapped the line too much around the circle bit on the leaver on the right. so i tried doing it less and it casted miles.

 thnx anyway for all your help.     :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
