What do u guys do with your rods and reels after fishing the chuck to stop them from rusting? Would simply just wiping them down with a wet cloth do? thanks  ;D

My hubby takes apart his own reels and fixes them. When they start acting up. He uses q-tips since he's in there to get rid of all the crap that's accumulated in there. Problem is, now that word's getting out how good he is at it, all his buddies bring their reels over to him. Believe me, nothing like having those tiny weeny parts all over the coffee table.

Yes, after every salt water trip I soak my reel in soapy water. Easy to do, simply remove the side plate and dump the reel into the water. Use a toothbrush to get at the hard to get spots. Rinse, dry and oil and you're set. Procedure doesn't take too long. I've got my Ambassador 6500C for over 10 years and looks brand new
