Title: A note regarding private messaging
Post by: Rodney on August 09, 2004, 11:59:50 AM
For those who use the private message function on the forum, here's something to be aware. Most of you probably have noticed that you'll get a duplicated message in your email when a private message is sent to you. If you want that to be stopped, simply do the following:

Go to your Private messages.

Click on Preferences.

Select No for the Notify by email option.

If you choose to receive duplicates in your email, don't reply to that message in the email. The replying email address is not valid, it's simply a forum email address that is transferring the message from the sender to your email.

I've noticed.  I get notices on my email and on my phone.  I can't break free :o

Rod - can you make that address Autorespond?  It would be nice.  I've forgotten the odd time, and wondered what happened as well.

If it said "Hey Bonehead - this is not the right address - PM the guy back on the forum".  (or something nicer - your choice  ;D)

DragonSpeed:  your blog link doesn't work for me.  Takes me to a MarsLink search page.
