Title: Native Openings On The Fraser
Post by: Thug on July 28, 2004, 04:37:06 AM
When FN has an opening on the Fraser are "DRIFT NETS" legal?   In all my years on the river I have not heard or seen this until this year(ezcept for the odd case of poaching). Does anyone have the official answer??

From what I gather not legal although there may some loop hole that may allow them to get it changed to be able to do so.

For an intresting discussion between Ken Malloway and Phil Esvick go to the CKNW web page and listen between 9:06 and 9:45 am yesterday. What are you doing up so early Doc?

They'll try anything.  If it's not legal in the reg's, they'll do it anyway and file a constitutional challenge with tax payers money >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Just heard that the natives will be fishing "legally" Friday to Monday.  So much for my nice day on the river next Tuesday.  Oh well, I hope it'll be sunny so I can change from white to pink and then peal back to white. :o
