Squamish FSR Closure:
April - mid-May, 2017: Major works at 22km (Mud Creek) of the Squamish River FSR scheduled. Exact closure dates TBD based on weather conditions; however, a complete closure of the site is planned and there will be no access around/beyond 22km for the duration of the project.

Found this out the hard way this weekend. The road is now closed at 22 km and will remain closed for at least 1 month. :(
Wish the MOF engineer responsible was an angler and left it open just 2-3 more weeks before freshet closes the fishery down anyway.

I wonder if maybe what they're doing relates to freshet somehow and this is their only window.

LOL @Clarkii, you are probably right and it's all a ruse to keep the confluence all to himself!
Freshet is probably right, before it starts to really blow and not wanting to do in-stream work during the fall winter salmon season.
Shame they could not have done it earlier and through the winter season and kept the road clear of snow for us. :)
