Title: Question about Milner reels
Post by: Barbelface on October 09, 2016, 10:46:04 AM
I have a right hand wind talisman but spooled to use as left hand. I take it the clicker will not operate as the fish runs unless I change to a left hand reel?

If I am not mistaken the clicker will click both ways. Some people actually prefer this way as the click pawl is controlled by the same hand holding the rod and reel.

I actually spoke with John today. He explained that the Milner has a silent retrieve feature so the clicker only is audible when line is being taken. Unlike the kingfisher reel which works in both directions.

You only use the clicker while travelling to and from fishing spots.

Quick question, not to hijack the thread... I have a 4 3/8" kingfisher bushing reel. the last outing we happened to encounter some large white springs, few does dead and shortly after a few casts I noticed something was worng. I took the spool off an to my disbelief the pin and the nut on the back spin freely and has the slightest bit of play and a wiggle. Anybody encounter this issue?  Should I take it back to the store I purchased it or does one send it direct to Mr. Milner?

Says right on the bottom. Send it in to John himself. Call first to discuss the issue. I'm sure he'll gladly fix the issue he is a fine man who stands by his work.

It didn't happened to me or to any of my friends but I would send my reel to John.  I would also expect broken rod before this reel issue.Just for curiosity, what rod and leader are you using?

Thanks for the link, on the iPad as the computer quit working. I have been fishing  my 3113mb with 15#UG mainline 10-12#STS fluorocarbon leaders... Some times run 15/15 if the big girls are around...
