Title: Mainline for Center Pin

Just curious as to what weight line others are using for mainline on centerpin. I've got a john milner kingfisher 2 bushing reel and I am thinking of going to 12# mainline. Thinking I may get a little more distance with a lighter line. I have it paired to a trophy xl custom TCS5100C 8-15# 10' rod and seldom go more than 8# leader. I believe it has 15# on it now.

12 lb. is a good choice.

I use 17 pounder just in case there is a big spring that my hook as it happened several times yesterday and have no problem casting across Vedder.

Just switched from Maxima Chameleon to P line CXX 15lb mono.  So far I have been really impressed with the P line CXX.  It casts great, floats well, low memory and pretty abrasion resistant as well so far.  I got the bright yellow high visibility line cause i like to watch my line as well as my float.  My eyes are not as good as they used to be. So far I like it.  Have not noticed any difference in my catch rate after switching.  I use fluorocarbon leaders.

I like 15lbs chameleon but just recently switched to braid with a 6 for top shot of mono.

I use 20lb maxima ultra green.  Never had a problem.  Can cast it a mile, and will pull any fish from any pool..

20lb berkley pro spec, 15lb seaguar fluro leader
Good for any salmon species and never feel undergunned anymore

"Old timers" run 30lb on their pins, I myself run 20lb. On a pin a stiffer line is more preferred as it will come off the reel better. To cast farther with a pin the biggest contributing factor will be getting the reel spinning. Youtube search Wallace cast or center pin casts and you will have a good selection of different casts to choose from.
