Title: Milner Kingfisher RH LH Retrieve?
Post by: clarki on February 13, 2016, 09:25:54 PM
It's my understanding that a Milner Kingfisher is either LH  or RH retrieve, not both, and you can't change it like you can on a fly feel. Correct?

it can be used right or left. just depends where you want the pawl. i retrieve left but i prefer a right handed reel. using a right handed reel left retrieve equals a pawl by your finger tips which i prefer.

Thanks bbf. Pardon my newbiness with cp reels, but the pawl is that little lever that takes you from free spool to retrieve clicker mode?

Yes. I also retrieve with my left but use a right hand Milner. I like being able to control the free spool and "clicker mode" by pulling up with my "pinky" finger and not having to move my hand.

Thanks both.  Got it. Now to play around with it...

A very good friend and fishing partner died of cancer recently and he told his wife he wanted me to have his cp outfit. I've never owned one before, but I'm looking forward to using it. Reluctantly though... :'(

Fish it often and with pride. Sorry for your loss.
