Title: dead pinks
Post by: dave c on September 28, 2015, 05:58:10 PM
Hi guys. Just curious.  Are there many dead pinks lying around the canal?  Planning on heading out tomorrow and would like to bring my dogs but they have this uncontrollable urge to roll in dead fish.

oh yeah they are starting to pile up on the gravel bars and are being carried downstream fairly regularly at the moment.  It will get worse but it would be best to leave the pup at home unless you like the small of rotten salmon.

Best leave them home for next month or two, before the pinks are gone, big chum will be replacing their carcasses.

Stepped on a big moldy pink carcass... that squishy feeling as your boot goes through.
I could only imagine a dog rolling around in a pile of dead pinks with this giant grin on his/her face. :o ;D

It's an instinct to disguise their scent.
