Title: Recked Roe
Post by: BUBBA on July 09, 2004, 07:25:01 PM
Tried to thaw some Coho skeins in hot water tonight , not one of my better ideas About half of them fell apart when I dumped them out of the bag. Just a warning in case anyone out there is as dumb as me.

Who hasn't done that before, wake up in the morning and realized that you forgot to take some roe out of the freezer :o The quickest way to defrost procured roe in an emergency is to place the frozen roe in a ziplock bag or other sealed bag and place it in some warm water :P I do this with roe that has been stored in borax, however i try to remove most of the borax from the frozen skein before the defrosting process.
