Fish found in Osoyoos lake, measured out at just over three feet. Been told it is a Burbot, but looking for a second opinion. The world record is 25 pounds, could this fish be close in size to that if it was over three feet? How old could it be?

Burbot for sure. Have caught many of these in Okanagan Lk.

Mmm....burbot and chips.......excellent. :P

That is one ugly fish. People actually eat those??
-
They are AMAZING table fare believe it or not, delicious!
-
Neat. I'm hoping you didn't kill a fish you couldn't identify.
-
that sucker looks dead
-
We didn't kill the fish, it washed up on the beach dead, also wondering why that could have happened?
-
100 things could have happened.
And that burbot is probably about 15lbs.
I've seen a few half dead floaters over the years. Something about their bladders making them really bouyant.

Should have used a banana for scale.
-
Yeah because everyone carries a banana with them while at the lake.
Should have used a banana for scale.

Often, it's the ugliest fish that are the best tasting. ie. Halibut, Cod, Sole, cat fish I wouldn't test that theory with women though.
