so im looking to head towards Hope this weekend
to floss up 2 socks hopefully
ive been looking at the videos and how to's
i have spin n glos already can i use these instead of a corkie?
ive never fished (flossed) for salmon
and would love to cross sockeye of my fish list and make some dog food for my furry friend
thanks Dale

Sockeye for dog food??
Oh boy.. I'd better go get some popcorn.
-
a small glow would work, or caterpillar length of wool,
or I can give you a pile of corkies lol I used to rake them up on a sand bar below Scale bar and now they are useless to me.
-
yes, my dog gets to eat some of the fish i catch, only one in my house that eats fish besides me

Why not wait until pinks come in and make enough for 2 years until the next run lol.
Cheaper to buy dog food than feed it fish that costs $7/lb at the cheapest you'll ever find it.
-
just cut the wings off the spin glo ,and you have a corkie.
-
You can do what you want with the fish you catch (except waste it).
It should give him a shiny coat 8)

i dont buy fish to feed him, i'll just make food from whats left over after i cut a few steaks
wish i had the freezer space to make more than 15-20lbs or so at a time
Not everything revolves around money, fish is free once on my line, ive already invested a cupcakes load in the gear and veggies are cheap.
More than anything its FUN to make food for the guy because he'll do every trick 5 times for a piece of fish, most treats he gives up after doing a few tricks.

No need for a corkie... 1/2 piece of wool will put enough resistance on your hook to float it.
-
thanks for the tips

i find out by using a colored wool its just a matter of spotting the hook while you re casting close to other anglers , peg leg for instance, i saw people throw big nude hook to floss sockeye. nothing on it ,sockeyes are not biting so anything you use in the hook doesn't make a logic sense at all , as i said for me it is just a matter of knowing where is is your hook when you are reeling in and casting in croweded place especially with a long leader , cheers

I thought it was illegal to fish with a bare hook?
-
It is.
-
ya definitely helps to see your hook
prolly go with a pink worm or wool to give it some drag and floatability
i know in ontario gulp and triggerx arent allowed on bait restricted lakes and rivers is BC the same?
-
any type of scent is considered bait, even if you add scent to your wool. :o
consider scentless lures if bait bans are in effect.

I don't waste money on cookies, I cut disposable earplugs in half and use those.
-
so basically ill i need is a smoke butt on the hook to make it flooat up off the bottom lol
