Howdy folks,
I'm doing some demographic research for a personal project and was hoping to get some assistance from you.
I'd like to know two things from float fishermen out there:
1. The general float weight range you typically use when targeting steelhead with a float reel.
2. Whether you primarily fish Western (W) rivers or Great Lakes (GL) tribs.
Here are the categories I'd like to use for selection:
2-7g (1/16-1/4) GL
2-7g (1/16-1/4) West
4-11g (1/8-3/8) GL
4-11g (1/8-3/8) West
7-15g (1/4-1/2) GL
7-15g (1/4-1/2) West
11-20g (3/8-5/8) GL
11-20g (3/8-5/8) West
15-25g (1/2-3/4) GL
15-25g (1/2-3/4) West
20-30g (5/8-1) GL
20-30g (5/8-1) West
Simply copy a line from the above list that best describes the general float size used for steelhead in either of the two regions provided. Then paste into your reply.
Hoping you find this interesting and instructive as well.
Thanks in advance for your help.

What a relief this is not a personal questionnaire.
Doesn't size of a float depends of how turbulent fished water is?

If I must use one of my own its always a 25g
If I am fishing a smaller system then I use strike indicators because I would be fly fishing (foam, balsa or thingamabobbers)

For winter steel heading in Lower mainland, 25g for me. Summer depends on water level and flow. 20g or 11g.
