Title: antique rod
Post by: mr.bean on January 26, 2014, 03:53:02 PM
hi everybody. cleaned out my wifes late grandpas garage. came across an old fishing rod. its an eagle claw grange ocean  10 f00t spinning rod. made by wright and  mcgill in denver colorado.  GOSR 623. it has no ratings on it. does anybody know the line rating on this rod ?  it has a large daiwa  spinning reel on it right now.  daiwa  J9000x.  if i wanted to sell this combo, what would be a fair price ? thanks

You must know some young person who would cherish and take care of a combo such as you have. Give it to him.

I second that.
It's a combo with very little resale value, but it would be great for someone starting out.

I remember Army & Navy selling rods like that 25-30 years ago people used them in the Fraser bar fishing.

Today it might be worth $20 if you were lucky but $10 is more reasonable Wright & McGill have never been high end and it's in no way an antique or collectible.
