I was down at the Bar several times last week and saw very few Pinks while I was there. As well the catch was minimal by fishermen.
Is the run pretty well over? Would the low show of Pinks be due to commercial netting downstream?

The pink run is pretty much over now. There may be a few stragglers left coming up but for the most parts it's done.

Strangely enough the few I caught were chrome, much better shape than the other ones from previous weeks.

I've noted in other posts I've had good fishing into the 1st week of Oct & even the long weekend in the tribs like the Harrison & Vedder. I don't know why the fishing drops off in the tidal now but I have seen huge numbers of fish in early Oct. in the Fraser above Mission where the currents tend to congregate them closer to shore. These fish are usually chrome. It tends to be a very sudden and big push. Timing varies from cycle to cycle by up to 10 days and there have been years I missed it. I've also seen runs of pinks in some tribs in early November though these were not in great condition.I don't know why people fishing in the lower Fraser don't find these runs, perhaps because they have stopped looking.
