Can anyone recommend a quiet campsite in Chilliwack? Some place that isn't a party place and preferably has a quiet time curfew.
I usually fish on weekdays. I'd like to drive up the night before to get a head start on first light. Such a drag leaving Vancouver at 4:30am!
Anyone been up there lately? I looking to target Chinook. Should be coming in now in good numbers.
Please send PM if you prefer.
Thanks!

I have not seen many Chinooks around yet in my travels. You could camp up at Tamahi or Thurston meadows camp grounds.

I don't know if there are party people there or not, but it's right on the river .. near many lower river runs. Can't beat the location. Bring ear plugs. Lady said lots of open campsites this week.

$13 at Tamahi or thurston....both on the river and much quieter than the in town/vedder campground @ $26......however there is also flush toilets/pay showers at the in town one if thats of any importance to you....as well one needs to be mindful of the gate closing/opening times as sometimes it can be a pain when one wants to get out before 7am.

@Animal Chin, that's a huge campground! I was walking the river looking for early pinks three weeks ago. Tons of RVs side by side. Saw one teenager girl post hangover hurling by the river.
Thanks for all the good tips.
It looks like Tamahi is only open on the weekend now "71 Campsites - Open May 1st - Long Weekend in September, then weekends only until Thanksgiving" http://www.tourismchilliwack.com/profile.php?profileID=739
....oh spoke too soon, misleading information "Tamahi East" is open year round: "However Tamihi Creek (East) remains open year round to accommodate winter camping and the fishing season," http://www.sitesandtrailsbc.ca/search/search-result.aspx?site=REC0002&type=Site
Both these looks pretty quiet, especially with Thurston up in the valley.
Can you park outside of the gates for early AM get-away?

Yes. Ive camped in both these places and this time of yr it will be very quite. Tamahi will be less populated as Thurston caters to the RV crowd.
