We have the following days (as listed in the title) available to families for Learn to Fish programs! July 26: 12 pm to 3 pm, and Saturday July 27: 12 pm to 3 pm.
If anyone is interested in one of these Learn to Fish programs or Open Fishing give us a call at the Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery (604) 504-4716 or email at visit.fraservalley@gofishbc.com.
Programs are both $10 a piece per person - parents are welcome for free if they don't want to fish.
The Learn to Fish program is 3 to 4 hours long and covers a little bit about the society, a hatchery tour (feed some sturgeon, char and trout), rod rigging and knot tying, casting, and one hour of fishing on our heavily stocked ponds. It is a perfect way of getting people into fishing - either kids or adults newer to the sport! We adjust the program based on age of the people attending.
The Open Fishing is just 2 hours of fishing down at the ponds with one of our staff to help you out. Having attended a learn to fish program is preferred before we book you into one of these! Great way to spend a few hours with the kids as they are sure to catch some fish!
All gear and tackle is provided, but feel free to bring your own.
Cheers,
Dan

Its a fun day out. I have taken my kids through their program. They thoroughly enjoyed it.
-
Bump!
-
Dan, how much is it for the 2 hours of open fishing for kids?
-
What ages can attend and fish in the pond?
-
Any age! All children and adults are welcome! The learn to fish program however is targeted at children 5 to 15. Any younger and it will be kind of tough to keep them interested.
The 2 hours of open fishing is $10 per person fishing!
-
Ok, do you fish the pond and release the fish for the two hours?
-
Yep all catch and release!
-
Bump to the top! New Dates posted for Families L2F programs at the Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery!

Last week my son 6 and daughter 5 both attended the learn to fish program at Fraser Valley Hatchery. It was a great time and they both landed several fish and we both stoked.
