Hey everyone,
First post on here, decided I needed some help. Moved to vancouver from Ontario last year, fished all last fall and caught absolutely nothing. I tried float fishing in chilliwack, casting with spoons, spinners near Nicomen, bar fishing near Nicomen.....nothing. It was not for lack of trying either. So I was hoping for some advice, salmon starts July 15th on the Fraser? Was hoping to try Bar fishing between chilliwack and hope. I do not have a boat.
I have all the gear. Heavy rod, big reel, assorted spin and glo's and weights. Does anyone have any food advice in where to go, what to do? As much as I understand the concepts behind everything, last season was a great indication that it doesn't always translate to catching fish. If someone would be willing to have a tag along for a day as well would be cool.
Looking for any and all advice and suggestions.
Cheers

Bar fishing for chinook is known for being slow, afaik. In fact, most will probably tell you that bar fishing is more about the company and/or time on the water than it is about the fish; 1 or 2 fish in a day is considered productive.
Keep at it. Try some of the bars around Hope, perhaps. Add some roe and/or scent to the spin-n-glows. Check ur rig every 20-30 minutes to make sure that it didn't get tangled up after it hit the water.

Don't feel too bad. I've never had any luck bar fishing either. :-[

Can't help you much regarding locations as I've only been taken to a couple of spots, but here are some more reading:
