Title: Cultus lake
Post by: fishyfish on March 17, 2013, 10:52:32 AM
My brother in law lives on Cultus lake. He phoned me today to ask if I would know what people would be fishing for on Cultus Lake right now. He has noticed quite a few boats fishing on the water. Some in rain and wind so they must be catching something. What does anybody know about what they are fishing for now? Just realized I should have put this in discussions instead of reports but I do not know how to move it. Sorry.

Fraser Valley Salmon Society has been catching and tagging northern pikeminnow there this winter with Fisheries and Oceans Canada. More anglers are out now because they are fishing for cutthroat trout and bull trout that are preying on salmon fry.

This time of the year would probably be good for bull trout. I have had good success fishing for cutthroat closer to May and this is usually when the pikeminnow become a lot more active as well. It's a nice lake to fish before the water skiing and wake boarding season really gets going.
