Hey guys looking at getting either the 11'3 or the 13 " clarus. Just wondering if anyone had any feedback on this rod? Thanks
-
I have one its fun to fish but I dislike the sliding reel seats
Mine is the 13 footer
-
What do u dislike bout the reel seats? I've never owned a rid with sliding reel seats but I heard if u just tape them up there fine.
-
I have the 13 foot....
Awesome so far.
Used it to chuck spoons off the beach and in the river at coho with a spinning reel...
Then used it the other day for steelies with apin. Preformed great wherever I used it, and whatever reel I had on it.
Fun noodly rod for sure.
Reel seat, well, MAKE SURE you tape it. Might seem sturdy at first but it WILL let your reel fall off when you're fighting a fish :P
Thing I like about the reel seats is depending on how heavy/light your reel is, you can still balance the rod out.

There is probably nothing wrong with the seats just dislike taping my reel on

the fact you have to tape them on tells me there is something "wrong" :D I had the same on my Loomis GLX and had the reel fall off twice, they are crap

All sliding rings eventually will come off even Hardy w fitting with a single sliding ring.
-
i also have the 13ft rod, its fantastic for steel. tape the reel seat and you will enjoy it

i have the 13 foot rod and its awesome! hopefully getting the 11 footer for christmas to pair up with my other reel. as for the reel seats i havent had any problems, never once had my reel fall or come loose...... dumb luck i guess.

I have the 11'3.
not the best choice if you are fishing deeper waters and long long drifts,as it's a very noodly rod,not enough backbone to set the hook on long drifts, nonetheless a real fun rod when FISH ON.I stuck a coffee grinder on mine and used it for a jig rod or casting off the beaches.Regardless, best bang for the buck at $79.00 for an IM9 graphite rod

Thanks for the input! Just bought the 11'3. Now it's time to try her out on a bullet. :)

I do like the fact it is a 4 piece unit

:o....do u sleep well at nights? :P

I have the convergence as well but the reel seat tightens from the top and you have cold hard plastic on your hands I much prefer a bottom tighten type of reel seat this is a huge comfort difference.
-
The bottom tighten type thingy is called up-locking.
The round tightening thingy on the top that tightens the thingy with the fishing line is down-locking.
;)
