Post by: shawn_john on August 22, 2012, 09:34:52 PM: hey i am heading up to surrey lake for the long weekend coming up and will be the first time to that lake just wanted to see if there where others that have fished it and see what works for that lake for flies or gear, thank you if ya can share some info.

Our cabin had holes in the walls, the fold down bed fell apart and the whole campsite was poorly maintained. The fishing is alright for fish from 12-20 inches but you can see the highway from the lake.

I only fly fish lakes and your typical patterns will work to get into fish. Pumpkinheads worked well for us and if chironomids are coming off they will be good as well. This time of year the bombers should be out too.

Unless their is a last minute cancellation good luck getting into Mile High. That place is clean, quiet and a great place for families. We are on our way up there tomorrow until Monday. Family loves it up there. Plus I can take day trips to other lakes with bigger fish.

Post by: shawn_john on August 23, 2012, 03:20:13 PM: Ya I've stayed at mile High before its a really nice resort. Reason going to try other resort is we have a a dog that loves to go in the boat. Lot of good memories at mile high. Probably gonna try there in September when it cools off a bit.

Oh ya I bought that motor off you. It runs great!!! The first time using it I found it a big sluggish for a while ( as it had not been run in quite some time ) but after a few times letting the throttle out for a while it warmed up and she was gold!! Loving the motor thanks for the great deal!!
