What do you think of the shimano clarus

I fish the 8'6" Extra Fast spinning rod and although the thing could send lead into outspace i find it a little to stiff and have recently lost alot of fish on it IMO. i do like the rod.

There are several rods in the Clarus line what rod are you referring too?

The whole line but mostly the salmon steelhead rods

The Clarus line has been good to me I have one of the spinning series and it is one of my favorite rods.
I recently picked up the new 4piece 11foot pin rod love the rod hate the sliding reel seat.
I also own a couple other Shimano  rods and I am quite happy with them good bang for the buck
