Fishing has been comming waves.
The water clarity is 2 ft and more. good color. good water levels.
Fishing should be good from mid to low because of the abundance of spots opening up
bring weighters though if you want to get to an ideal location due to side streams

So many people chucking roe, you will have good luck trying anything but roe if your in a crowded area. if your on your own. roe will suffice.

Tight lines to all

4:30am... You guys are crazeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...... ;D I'll save that for fall's coho salmon fishing. Have you seen many sockeye salmon caught (legit bites on roe or krill, not flossed)? :)

That's not true, I go to bed at 3am. Someone has to watch out for those late night/early morning trolls that come out from their caves. ;D

Was out at 5:30 this morning and caught 5 socks and 1 spring. All the fish were released, people were everywhere for red spring season. It was pouring out too. Saw about a dozen springs taken in the area I was in. Charity went from about 3-4 feet to 2 feet by the time I left. My socks were caught on roe and blades so yes they are biting bait and lures but the flossers are still getting their fair share too :P

Nothing for me tonight. I had a few bumps but lost more flies to snags then fish. Then I got surrounded by Bottom bouncers so I moved up river. Came back down to the original spot to find some fish guts & gills that would match the size of a sockeye....

Was raining and windy when I left. Learned that my fishing jacket wont fit over my cast so it was a wet afternoon for me.

Keep the Photo's and reports coming IMO. ;)

its possible the guts and gills were that of a sockeye but there is alot of those red springs in the 8-12lb range which should be about the same size as a sockeyes inards. lets not make assumptions unless you witness the poaching yourself.

thank you

management  ;)

I have caught 2 jacks this season so I would say there is alot of small reds out there. Saying that I have seen some very poor releases of socks. One guy had one like hip hight till he unhooked it then it "gently fell too the ground" what a joke. Oh and I also saw the conservation officers out there. Good for them I love the panic they bring to the flossers and people with barbs secretly trying to pinch them before they get checked. I have never seen it this busy.

You can distinguish between the species by counting the number of gill rakers on the gill arches.
