A few years ago my family discovered this event in our community and have since taken our kids every year. They have arts and crafts and facepainting as well as a concession stand and of course, they ask for kids to help release salmon fry into the Serpentine River. It is a completely free event, but any proceeds raised go directly back to the project so feel free to spend a few bucks on a hot dog or something yummy.
The event is scheduled to run from 10:30am-3pm but i would recommend getting there early as parking is fairly limited and you dont want them to run out of salmon to release.
For kids, i suggest to bring some good gum boots cause the river bank where they release the slamon can be mucky.
It is a great time for family and kids and the cause helps us all out.
Here is the link in case canyone cant find it.
See you out there.
