Gear/drift:  Sage 2106 rod and Diawa Luna 253 reel (or Shimano Calcutta 200B).

Fly:  Sage RPL+ 896 and Hardy Ultralight Disc 8/9, or Sage XP 796 and Hardy Ultralight Disc Large Arbor 7/8.  Also have a Sage FLi 896 and Lamson Velocity 3.5 Hard Alox reel as a decent back-up system.

Currently using a 10' 6" Fenwick Lamiglass GSH1262MH with refurbished Avon Royal Supreme  ;D.

Also have an 11' 3" Hanson "Light Steelhead" with sliding reel seat that I fill with either a Hardy, The Silex, or an Ambassadeur 6500CA.

The OP is asking about CASTING setups, not fly setups.
It would be nice to extend the original poster the courtesy of actually reading their opening post before answering a question.  ;)

It would be nicer to extend the OP the courtesy of trying to convert them to the only way to cast. :P

Actually Milo, perhaps YOU should read the opening post. The original poster says he decided on a casting setup, what is YOUR current set-up.

Deciding on a casting set-up myself .... what is your current set-up for steelhead?

Brand, rod length/size, reel type etc  :)

I choose to CAST my centerpin or CAST my spey rod  ;)

Sorry, but you should really take reading lessons. The original poster says he is deciding on a casting setup, as in 'in the process of making a decision'. Nowhere does he say he has decided already, as you claim.
Therefore, it is safe to infer that he is looking for input about casting setups we are currently using to help him make up his mind.

Jeez, these immigrants... :D
