As a local resident, I have seen more bears this year than the past 10 combined. Just be aware they do exist out there. I have seen them on the Yarrow side of the Vedder, the Sardis side of the Vedder near the crossing bridge and this one on Sunday just up past Tamihi. Just be aware they do exist and are cruising the river banks for food.

Remember, when cleaning your fish please through all the fish's guts into the middle of the river instead of just leaving the guts on the side of the river. (Remember the bears like free lunches)

Was fishing for trout out on the Shuswap (lumby end) earlier this year right at the start of the springs, had what i'm sure was a smallish spring on and managed to get it about 10ft from shore upriver about 30ft from me and what comes barreling out of the bush splashing into the water to grab my fish? YUP you guessed it!!...small/medium sized black bear!....of course I dropped my rod and hightailed it up to my truck, waited there about 20-30 min and carefully walked back down to where I was fishing to search for my rod and found it hung up in a bush, line snapped and fish gone of course...needless to say that was the end of my day fishing at that spot!! lol.....still wonder if the bear got a nice surprise when chowing down on my fish! ;D

If that's the spot I think it is in the pics I'll be right there tomorrow...maybe I'll have company.
