Thinking about purchasing one of these.....any thoughts or reviews...any current users of it?.................. http://templeforkoutfitters.ca/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=yagendoo_VaMazing_1.tpl&product_id=78&category_id=15&vmcchk=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=50
as it is a joint venture of sorts between Gary Loomis and TFO then I am thinking that it would be a good buy but just would prefer to hear from others first on it as I will possibly be purchasing online so its at home waiting for me when I return from work! :)
Cheers.

looks nice, what sort of reel were you thinking of putting on it?

An Abu 6500 C3 baitcaster......thinking of getting this as my backup rod only now though as I believe I will be picking up a Sage 3106 ct to use as my main :)

The rod is a Gary loomis design, he left G-Loomis a while back and is now designing rods for TFO.
By what I have heard, ALL the rods that are being designed by Gary are excellent!! I have not fished any of the Gary Loomis designed TFO's, but they sure are getting quite a bit of buzz in the industry!!

TFO likely paid Gary for the use of his name on their rods
Gary has his own rod company called North Fork Composites

As far as I am aware of, Gary is working (Maybe on a contract basis) for TFO as a designer.
Here is a "Welcome to TFO" page that explains the relationship a little/

Yes, I have found a fair bit of info on it all as well since my original post.
Gary is or did indeed team up with TFO to make these....a quick search on google with "Gary Loomis TFO" brings up a wealth of info on it...here is another page that tells a bit.

I think I will indeed get myself one of these rods just to check it out for myself as from what I have read so far (and probably the reason why no one has responded with any personal experience with these rods) is that they just came out either early this month or sometime last month!
Just not quite sure yet if I will get one as a back up for Salmon/Steelheading now or if I will maybe get one for spincasting trout!...hmmm...maybe both? lol :)
