Title: Dead sockeye in Harrison Lake
Post by: greese30 on August 28, 2011, 04:15:25 PM
Went for a boat ride on Harrison Lake today and saw over 30 dead sockeye floating around in various spots.  All the fish were silver bullets - so certainly not spawned out fish.  Any ideas as to why these fish are dead and floating in the lake?  They were not all in the same spot but spread around over a few miles.  Seals?  I know they live in the lake year round... could they have hounded some fish to the point of death... but then why would they not have eaten the fish?

See this post from last year.  One theory is the higher water temp.
