Title: Quadra Island for Salmon
Post by: marshal on June 12, 2011, 06:50:10 PM
Thinking about staying on quadra for a few days in the 1st week of August to do some salmon fishing (primarily trolling).

Have not fished that area before.... can anyone recommend fishing areas / locations?

Thank you.

In my trips to Campbell River/Quadra Island we have had pretty good success fishing around Brown's Bay and Rock Bay.  We trolled with anchovies and were having a hard time keeping the wild Coho off the line so we could boat a Spring.

Thanks.  Where is Rock Bay?

By boat, Rock Bay is about 45 north of Browns Bay.

 50° 19.989'N
125° 28.261'W

Try that Lat/Long.  That should put you right in Rock Bay.  Its a pretty popular fishing spot so get into the "pattern" of boats and follow the loop.

Did well on Pinks over by Marina Island between Quadra and Cortes Islands. Good numbers of Tyee's around then too. Call River Sportmans Outdoors Store or Tyee Marine for up to date info on all Salt / Freshwater fishing in the area.
