Hey guys,
I need some help with an essay I'm writting on salmon farming and I have a few questions...
Who funds salmon farming on the coast of BC?
What threats do farmed salmon pose to our health?
Need answers asap
Thanks

You are writing an essay and you think you are going to get enough info just by asking a couple of questions?
Try running a google search on BC salmon farming... I'm sure you'll get more than enough material for your essay.

I have tonnes of info and I am just wondering about these questions because I could not find the answers on the internet. I have enough about how is effects our health just wanted to see if anyone knows of anything else I didn't find. I couldn't find anything on the first question tho.

Check out Alexandra Morton's home page and follow her links:

Also, when you look at articles on this subject, take note of whether the author him- or herself has a stake in (or is directly or indirectly on the payroll of) the salmon-farming industry. Anyone can call himself a "researcher," but this is an industry, like so many others, where money talks. Good luck with your essay.

Salmon farming is funded by Norwegian companies. Cermaq, Grieg, Marine Harvest
Farmed salmon are higher in fat content and have more bio-accumulating persistent organic pollutants, like polychlorinated biphenyls.
You'll find all of these things on the internet very easily.
