Anyone fished from the shore / beaches or in the main Sooke river at this time of year?  If so what's there???

The Sooke gets a decent run of Coho in the fall that is catch and release as far as I know, not much in the way of resident bows... I wouldnt think their is much going on there until the salmon in the fall, winter steelhead as well...

Hey, I've fishing the sooke river, there are resident rainbow as well as resident cutties and sea run cutties too. In the fall there sept, oct, nov it is a fly fishing only river. The rest of the year it is open below sooke pot holes to casting spoons and bait. The river use to have a decent size run of chinook that used to be open for retention but in recent years the river has come down to I believe 200 returning chinook to the hatchery. There are better bets for fishing west of the sooke river as well as north of sooke
