HAS ANYBODY BEEN TO MOSS LAKE IN SASQUATCH NATIONAL PARK RECENTLY? I WAS WONDERING IF THE SERVICE ROAD WAS CLEAR OR IF IT HAS SNOW ON IT. I WENT THERE LAST SUMMER AND HAD AN EPIC TIME FISHING. ITS NEAR HARRISON.

There is no snow on the road up to the park. Although I did not know there was a road to moss lake.

The only road i know of to moss lake is the one the parks guys drive quads up sometimes... i have hiked up to moss on it but there was a barrier against vehicles...
Honestly most of it should be clear of snow, especially after that warm rain last night...
Question though...
I have hiked up there and checked out the lake(s) but was curious if we are actually allowed to fish in them?? The regulations say - "Moss Pothole Lakes- Closed all year; unnamed pothole lakes all located east of the power line and approx. 2 km east of Hicks Lake, 3 km south of Deer
Lake and 1 km SE of Moss Lake..."
So i was curious if that fishing ban includes moss lake?? "moss pothole lakes" sounds a bit confusing to me, is it included or not...lol
-
Confusing yes. I interpret that as Moss Lake is open.
*Disclaimer*
I am often wrong :)
-
You can fish moss lake but you can't fish the other small lakes up there at all. They have been closed for several years now.
-
i have wondered why these pothole lakes were closed. does anyone know the reason?

Research project... I believe for UBC or some other LML university/college

Yeah I think we have had this discussion here before and that was the general consensus. I found the stocking report for them and they were definitely still working up there at these unnamed lakes last year.

would be fun to fly fish those "unnamed" lakes someday, maybe one year they will open em...... love that area, maybe i'll check out moss this week...

it odd that Moss lake(open for fishing) has not been stocked in recent years , but the un-named pothole lakes(that are closed to fishing) have been stocked year after year ...
