just spent 5 days up there...I had a blast fishing with my 7 and 8 yr old boys!  Bobber fishing with berkley maggots or worms and we couldnt go 2 minutes without a hit from a perch, crappy, pumpkinseed, or bass.  Nothing very big but tons of fun!  I was my first trip and we just poked our heads in here and there.  One spot a local there showed me a pick of two 7lb bass he worked there over the past 3 days so there were some nice ones around.

the local said the guys at the home hardware on main st were really knowledgeable.

It might be open for sockeye, but they're probably not there.  The Okanogan River is roughly 73 degrees farenheit, (which acts as a thermal barrier), and the Colville tribes have probably taken at least half or more of the run holding in the Brewster pool of the Columbia River.  Many more are injured from escaping the nets.  It's a crime what's going on.
